"new" indicator still not working

Sometimes there is an indication on the main page - especially in the "provincial" forums for volunteers and hosts, but on the upper half - "Announcements", "Comment on our new website", "for hosts only" etc, there is no indication that there is a new post within. I have to open each one to see if there are any new posts or replies.

"new" indicator doesn't turn off

I have a differnt problem. On my display of the forum site, it always (permanently) shows 4 new next to "host's feedback", 1 new next to "hosts for hosts only", and 1 new next to "Ontario hosts", but nothing new when I go to the page itself. If new posts come in it shows 1 new and I go to that page and then it disappears from that page. However, I seem to have permanent displays of these numbers of "new" (phantoms!!) on these three headings. It seems that something isn't working properly. I wonder if anyone else has this problem? It seems to be different than the other reported problem. Can this be fixed?

Update, Friday, November 13 - New post indicator star system now working - thanks. All the phantom messages have gone. I had to reread each one that was indicated and now everything is clear. Thanks for the adjustment to this system.

However, the star indicator for this category, comment on website, isn't working becasue I just made the above update and there was no star to show new post although the time "6 minutes ago" showed on the right hand column for new posts.

That's because it's not "new" to you - you were the one posting it.
To me, the star showed up.
