more sight improvement suggestions
I would love to see a comments field underneath each Wwoofer and Host. This way relavant experiences can easily be shared. Some of the stories that our Woofers told us of other hosts sounded most unfair but then I am only hearing half the story. Likewise a little information on an incoming Wwoofer can also be beneficial. Numerous comments will definitely give both parties a feel for each other.
I would also like to see that a current picture of the Wwoofer be mandetory. This makes it easier if pickup is required as once on the road it is harder for a Woofer to provide this.
Yes, I agree, one can usually spot a wwoofer. I meet MANY WWOOFers here in Nelson, BC (at a pre-arranged place) and I usually just walk up to 'someone' and say, " Hi, are you Susan or Charlie?" Never been wrong !!
Anyway - we've had another great season - tops in numbers & hosts !!
Hope all hosts are also content.

PS -as to pictures many wwoofers have placed their pictures up under their profiles.
Question: Do hosts check their WWOOFers ID number and look them up on this site?
1/3 have not
Re: the suggestion of posting comments under WWOOFers. My experience (25 years) has been that a WWOOFer may really hit it off at one place - have a great time and go to another place and not have the same good reception. THUS - it's not at all fair to 'generalize' . . .
. .there are exceptions . . . but hey, if concerned, ask your wwoofer for references from their last stay . . .
It's ought to be up to the HOST to draw out the best in each person !!

As i say to all our WWOOFers who come by greyhound or Airplane, just look out for the cowboy...as in North Battle, Saskatoon and our area we are few and far between. So when we arranged to meet someone at Calgary coming in on an international flight from Europe, my usual saying (without thinking) was just look for the cowboys. OPPS :-) Took us over an hour to find the WWOOFer who for the first 2 hours of the trip home couldn't stop laughing. So yeah where a hat..but make sure it STANDS OUT for the area your in.

Let me first make clear that all our wwoofers were downright fabulously good looking!
(handsome,pretty,dashing,intelligent,cute,proper,etc,etc)
That said however,I have to admit that if pictures had been forwarded,we might have favoured one over another based on looks(we are only human) and by doing that, we would have missed out on meeting and getting to know some amazing persons!
So,please let us buy the cat in a bag!(it might be a crapshoot,
but it ain't russian roulette!)
So I say make it mandatory not to provide pictures,as to not cause us to prejudice on looks!

Ps To pick-up mystery-people wear a very tall hat,
We find it always fun and sort of exciting: hmmm, does he looks like a wwoofer or:
Can't be her, just look at her shoes!
Once I went to pickup my mother(coming from Holland) and a Korean guy (from Korea,if you had not guessed it)
I sat for half an hour in the lobby besides this wild looking Asian guy(it could not be him) waiting for my mother.Well he was it and my mother loved him (so helpful,so polite AND he called her grandmother)
Good story,not?
