Your point is well made. It is surprising to us that people don't use this site more fully. One of the concerns I have about the wwoof experience is one day receiving a police request for information about a wwoofer who has simply disappeared, or of having an accident and not knowing who to contact.
I am learning how to separate those looking for a holiday from those who really have an interest in what they are doing, simply by their initial approach. I don't mind considering either if there is a good disposition and a willingness to involve themselves in our reality while they are here.
Thanks for all of your efforts. It is a real boon for us.

i am surprised to hear that so few use this site, but i believe it will grow in popularity. i think a review/reference section for each host and wwoofer would really help attract people to the website.
can't speak for everyone, John, but I promise to write a reference for every wwoofer that comes to our farm. ( well, as long as it is a positive experience. we have had one wwoofer so far that i wouldn't want to write about- praise wouldn't be honest, but doesn't warrant a warning either). Joseph- would you give a similar promise? others?

i would hope it to have a positive feel- you know, where really great hosts and wwoofers would have dozens of great reviews.

Maybe we could just put a star on their profile if we feel they were good to refer to other hosts. Just an idea - sort of like toe movie ratings. Of course those who are just starting out wouldn't have any yet so... what do you think?

this site is great.... it'll just take time for more people to use it..... if there's a good idea and it's relatively easy to implement, i say, the more opportunities and services on the site, the better...... let's put out the best website possible, eventually, if we all promote it to our hosts/wwoofers, more will use it.... and the better it is, the more likely people will keep using it....

i use the site quite often, but i haven't logged on much in the past month since i had been quite busy with my wwoofing and had little access to internet...... that's why i haven't logged in to be able to see the addition of the section for wwoofers looking for wwoofers (although i was the one to suggest the idea)..... if it was so quickly implemented there's no reason to remove it just as quickly.... give people time to discover this section......

this is a GREAT site and great resource, but it's only been up in its current form for less than a year...... it'll get better if we all spread the good word and focus on the positive......

i like the idea about adding a check box for hosts choosing what seasons they're available as hosts.... that sounds like a simple, yet useful, addition
