Received January 26, 2012 "Just a note to say that I love being a WWOOF host. Last fall Task (from Japan) and I put up a aspen post in the garden so that each WWOOFer can make a name sign to add to the pole. Our way of honouring their help." Marie, WWOOF Host for 3 years from Saskatchewan
Received January 16, 2012 "I have finally had a few WWOOFers here this year. There have been 3 who have been very good. Laura was here all last January. I told her when she asked to come that the only thing to do here in January is to help me make wooden spoons. She needed somewhere to stay til February when she could go to a mushroom grower in Quebec, so she came and caught right on. And I felt like I made a friend as well as got work done, although I am old enough to be her grandfather.
Then from 30th of April to 18th May I had Jana, also from Germany, 29 years old and with experience working as an assistant director making movies. It seemed like we already knew each other when she arrived! She was also a big help and she continues to be my friend by email and the post.
Right now I have a guy named Ian from England. He is a carpenter and has helped me by building a couple of things as well as some outside work when weather permits.
So all the people who have come as single WWOOFers have been very good. I've had a few couples come but most have seemed to have something else on their minds and didn't do a lot of work and only stayed a few days.
Anyhow, thanks for helping make it possible for people to go around the country meeting people like this." WWOOF Host for 3 years from Nova Scotia

This is our first year, and we've had quite a number of Wwoofers stay with us. Without exception, they've all been wonderful, have been great workers, and its simply been fun getting to know them and learn about where they come from and what their lives are like. Our formula is simple: treat them well and they will give you all they've got. It's been a great experience." Keith Alexander, Toad Farm, Tlell, B.C.

I'm writing just to say how wonderful it to share the many and varied experiences through video and music of WWOOFers from across Canada. It's a great celebration of learning, adventure, and getting closer to the earth through work and fun while building community. Congratulations to everyone!!” Ellen, WWOOF Host for 17 years. We have had nothing short of amazing people and from many different countries. We learn so much from everyone that we meet and all the work that they do is so much appreciated. I could not begin to accomplish what needs to be done around here without their help. I have taught several people how to milk the goats and they seem to get a laugh out of the process. They are very surprised how good goat milk tastes and how easy it is to make so many good things to eat from the milk. I am very grateful that you have created this web site and that there are so many neat people out there who really enjoy the farm life. Thank you." Penny and Brent, WWOOF Hosts

I made so many wonderful new friends, learned so much and basically had an amazing time on every farm I visited. now I finally have my own farm and have already begun hosting friends/workers and am loving the experience of being on the giving end as a host. I know what it takes to make the wwoofers happy and I am happy to have the help and the company in our growing adventure." Talyn, WWOOF Host

Woofing was part of my experience in Canada and I find it more than just enriching. It was a way of life, a way to meet new people and to work with them together. I got to know different ways of life and learned a lot from my hosts. I believe that woofing is a great way to find the natural trust in people today's societies are missing. It was a wonderful experience for me and I definitely look forward to do it again. Through woofing I found some lifelong- friendships which make me incredible happy!" Rabanus from Germany

My WOOFing experience on Prince Edward Island with Gail & Joe last August inspired me to pursue this new path. Thank you for a wonderful program. It really changed my life. Keep up the good work! " Laura, WWOOFer from USA
