Volunteer Work on Organic Farms and Small Holdings

What is WWOOF?

WWOOF is a world wide network of organizations.
We link volunteers with organic farmers and small holdings, and help people share more sustainable ways of living.

WWOOF is a volunteer work exchange - In return for volunteer work, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles.

WWOOF organizations - link people who want to volunteer on organic farms or smallholdings with people who are looking for volunteer help. They publish lists of organic farms, smallholdings and gardeners that welcome volunteer help at certain times. The diversity of hosts available offers a large variety of tasks and experiences.

WWOOFers (volunteers):

Choose the hosts that most interest them and make direct contact to arrange a stay. Volunteers (WWOOFers) usually live as part of the family.

WWOOFers need a genuine interest in learning about organic growing, country living or ecologically sound lifestyles.

WWOOFers help their hosts with daily tasks for an agreed number of hours (typically 20-33 hours per week).

 Volunteer Work on Organic Farms

WWOOF is structured on a national level. While there are many WWOOF organizations around the world there is no central list or organization, we are in fact a loose network of over 100 national organizations. There is no international WWOOF membership.

You need to contact the WWOOF organization that you are interested in.  Hosts contact the WWOOF organization that looks after hosts in your country.  WWOOFers (Volunteers) contact the WWOOF organization where you would like to go WWOOFing (volunteering.)

Countries that have their own national WWOOF organizations are listed here:
www.wwoof.org/national.asp

If the country is not listed in the link above you need to contact WWOOF Independents, full details here:
